  • AirTag or compatible trackers: if opted in, we collect device location updates to provide real-time tracking.

How We Use Data

LuggageTribe uses the information we collect to provide safe, reliable, and seamless services. We also use it to protect users, comply with laws, and improve our platform.

  • Facilitate luggage rentals, luggage sharing, and parcel delivery.
  • Match senders with travelers who have available luggage space.
  • Enable pickup and drop-off coordination.
  • Process payments, refunds, and rewards.
  • Provide luggage tracking through AirTags or compatible devices.

2. To Ensure Safety and Security

  • Verify identities, travel routes, and rental agreements.

  • Luggage Sharing: senders and travelers may see each other's names, profile photos, luggage details, and trip information needed to coordinate a delivery.
  • Luggage Rentals: renters and delivery partners may see relevant booking details such as pickup/drop-off location, rental size, and contact information.

2. With Service Providers and Partners

We work with third parties who perform services on our behalf, including:

  • Payment processors (e.g., Stripe, PayPal) for secure transactions.
  • Identity verification and fraud prevention services to protect users.
  • Logistics partners for insurance, storage, or last-mile delivery support.
  • Technology providers for hosting, communications (e.g., Twilio, SendGrid), and tracking services.

  • Account information: kept for as long as you maintain an active account.
  • Transaction records: retained to meet tax, accounting, and legal requirements.
  • Tracking and rental data: stored for the duration of the rental/sharing period and for a limited time afterward for dispute resolution and insurance purposes.
  • Communications: customer support messages and feedback may be retained to improve services and for training purposes.

2. Deletion

  • You may request deletion of your account at any time through your account settings or by contacting our support team.
  • Upon deletion, LuggageTribe will remove your personal data, unless retention is required for legal, regulatory, or legitimate business needs (such as outstanding payments, fraud prevention, or safety investigations).
  • After the retention period, we securely delete or anonymize your data so it can no longer be linked back to you.

3. Exceptions
